Aiden is a seventh grader at Fay School who likes a challenge, whether it’s a new math topic, a speech at the State House or a microphone on a festival stage.
Grade 7 at Fay School.
Since fall 2025, Aiden has received 17 academic acknowledgements from his Fay teachers and 11 for earnest effort. His teachers’ notes describe what he does, not just what he scores.
Shakespeare, on crutches.
Still on crutches after his soccer injury, Aiden moved through the room delivering Shakespeare’s lines in a class exercise. His teacher wrote that his grit and effort were “inspiring to me and your classmates.”
A speech to the whole school.
He wrote a speech and delivered it at a Fay assembly in March 2026.
A presentation on child labor.
In April 2026 Aiden stood in front of his class and presented on child labor for his TOW (Transforming Our World) workshop.
“It felt almost overlooked, but it was very important.”
Helping, without being asked.
- Teachers noticed him helping classmates at the lunch table, again and again, over several weeks.
- On Fay’s soccer team, when his side let in three quick goals late in a game, he told his fellow defenders it was okay and to focus on the next play.
- In sixth grade he regularly helped classmates with math, including linear graphing.
“Helping is not just about giving someone a solution, it’s about … listening to what they’re not understanding. And we can build from there.”
Attitude, effort and sportsmanship.
He earned multiple effort marks for his attitude, effort and sportsmanship in basketball and Multi Sport, including the Earnest Effort Award for basketball.
Perfect scores, again and again.
Most of his academic acknowledgements are for perfect scores: 35/35 on English vocabulary quizzes, full marks on Spanish quizzes, and 14/14, 8/8 and 15/14 in Ancient World Cultures.
